BLURB: Christmas comes sooner than expected in the Big Easy.

With the serial killer on the loose, the Crescent City has become a place of nightmares. Inflicting terror on New Orleans has been his first order of business, and now, due to a recent faux pas, he’s on the run from district nineteen police.

In the midst of this is trans dancer Naomi Beneviere. Naomi is concerned about her safety after three other dancers wound up dead at the hands of the serial killer. To make matters worse, she dreams of their murders and possible details about the suspect.

Crime Scene Investigator Waylon Mooney is the top CSI on the case which has been plaguing the city. Waylon is meticulous and a hopeless romantic, but his social skills are a little off. After a series of dates with Naomi and many sleepless nights, Waylon is ready to take the next step in their relationship, but the killer on the loose may hamper their progress.

Will Waylon be able to assist in finding the killer? And will Naomi Beneviere finally have the chance at a true relationship with Waylon?

See No Evil concludes the N’awlins Exotica series. All books must be read in order.

Greetings folks

See No Evil, book 6 of the N’awlins Exotica series is done.

It is now on the editor’s desk

I blogged about the experience of writing a character who isn’t you.

Check out my post!

seeevil2 Good morning! I’m so stoked to be writing again. Isn’t it cool to have 2 muses collaborating? It means I’m sort of crazy right? Okay, okay, I admit, yes I am.

I’m really excited to be writing the last book in the N’awlins Exotica series, See No Evil. I am doing it by the seat of my pants, but I already know the main things I want to happen, just putting them together seems to be the challenge.

Alot to be done with this book. The romance with Naomi and Waylon, the serial killer still running from the police and oh, how will they catch him? Then there’s my vampire Ryland who is trying to help, but really can’t because of his vampire code. LOL

Yep, it’s sort of confusing, but I hope to get all the plot points settled in this book and end this series with a bang. Rawiya and Michael are doing it together, with Michael writing parts for Eli and Ryland, while Rawiya writes for Naomi and Waylon. All this with research on forensics as well as transsexuals. Yep, the life of a writer!

I’m looking to release See No Evil by Xmas. In the meantime, if you haven’t checked out the rest of the series, please do. Book 5 is an M/F btw.

Greetings folks.

I post so rarely on this blog, but I did want to share great news.

Smooth Like Latte and Time to Make the Donuts have both been picked by Thirteen Below press.

I re-did both books so they’ll be totally different than the first

I’m very excited and will keep you posted about the release dates for next year.

Also, wicked gal is hard at work. She just finished Living in Sin, N’awlins Exotica 3.1 and is moving right along into book 4, Hell Hath No Fury with Michael. She’s also working on Wounded Paths, the third book in the Wounded series with Remmy Duchene as well as edits on Wounded Pride.

Not to mention edits on Under the Gun 2.

Lordy is she busy!

Michael will be working on Hell Hath with her and then switching gears to his own series, PROTEKT Book 2 Closely Guarded.

Is there room for me to write?

*laughs*

Yes, I’ll be starting rewrites on Living in the Now.

That’s a lot to go, right?

Shar is running ragged

NoDeny1  Good morning,

I haven’t done the Wind down in quite a while and since Miss BL is super busy cranking out new stories, I thought I’d give it to her. Take it away BL!

Thanks kiddo!

Soo, what went into writing No Denying Sin?

Well, first off, I must say I’m happy that me and Mikey share a brain because I had to dig deep into the characters to write them. I mean, they weren’t my creations, but I’m thinking when he came up with Kenina and Orrin especially, he thought about me.

*smiles*

And Mikey does write in here too, even though his name isn’t on the cover. He writes the parts for Eli, our redheaded friend who can’t keep his hands off of anybody. *smirks*

And I write the saucy and never boring Kenina as well as Vance and Orrin.

Orrin has quickly become one of my fave characters. He’s no nonsense, quite lewd at times, and he’s a helluva cop.

He’s also complicated, thinks way too much at times, and hell, he can be sort of a thorn in your side.

Then, the opposite is Vance Morain who is just a load of fun. He’s from Dallas, he’s country, and he can also be lewd. *snort*

But this man knows how to love and when he’s focused, he is just that. He doesn’t take turn down’s easily, and he’s tough as shit.

So, seemingly I had two alpha males trying to make a relationship out of basically nothing but blue balls and a partnership that hasn’t been in existence that damn long. How do I make these freaking boneheads fall in love?

One, was to get Orrin over his hangups. I’m telling you, that wasn’t easy. And then Vance with his, I wasn’t raised a gay… cut that shit. *growls* There’s more to that but you’ll have to read to find out. In the meantime, I did have some music to push me along.

Mostly, rock because Orrin Daugherty is hard nosed. Until I got to the last part which is a story for another day. *snorts*

This song in particular I focused on

Why this song? Well, I considered the budding relationship between Vance and Orrin to border on obsession. And the other characters going nuts adds to the sexual tension in the book. I know that sounds vague but we don’t wanna give everything away do we?

Anyway, this song says desperation, obsession, angst, a lot of emotion which is why I used it. NIN is one of my fave bands to use for inspiration too!

Thanks for listening and look for the book in late December!

Here’s an unedited snippet of No Denying Sin!

After Chief listened to all their ideas about the case, Frankie grabbed Morain to go take a walk with their reheated coffees in hand. Neither of them were heading out onto the field anyway. Since all of them were on a day shift, most of the work would be done by computer.

“So, Morain? What’s up my man? You…”

Vance sighed and dropped his head, adjusting the black Stetson atop his messy curls. He hoped Frankie wouldn’t cause a scene to bring on any undue attention. “I think you were right, Choteau.”

“About?”

“My…um, desires. I can’t seem to get that man outta my head.”

“Well good. Means you can stay the hell away from mine,” Frankie playfully nudged Vance.

“Whatever, Frankie. There was nothing going on and you know it. Kajika flirted and flaunted his pretty self in front of me and wham! It woke up some shit in me I ain’t never experienced. So thank him for me.”

“All right, well…” Frankie shifted his weight from one foot to the other and took a sip from his mug. “Have you ever thought about being with a guy?”

“Not sexually. I remember back in high school I might’ve had a small crush on a couple of my teammates, but I was too afraid to say shit. My daddy don’t like faggots, Frankie so I let it go.”

“Understood my man. Mine didn’t like em either but my momma accepted me for what I was regardless. Part of this is accepting it yourself first before pushing it on other people, ya know? Now, the real question is, what do you intend to do about it?”

“You tell me.” Vance looked away again a moment before meeting Frankie’s brown gaze again. “Orrin don’t want no in office relationships.”

“He says that now, but I think if you came at him hard enough, he’d bend. Just don’t make it so damn obvious in front of everyone, especially Miss Kenina, right? Try not to look at him with puppy dog eyes or stare at his tight, plump… ahem, nice ass. Just make your feelings known in a subtle way when you’re out alone together and I bet you, he’ll eventually come around.”

“You think? And Frankie, I gotta ask you, since when you been checking out Orrin when you got that pretty man at home?”

“Well shit, Vance, I’m taken, but I ain’t dead. Orrin’s a good looking man. The new haircut fits him well and you can tell the man’s been working hard on his body. Fuck the kid is cut!”

“Um, yeah…” Vance eyed Frankie, confused.

“He is, Morain, but no worries, that’s all you, right? Hell, I’ll help you loosen the man up a little.”

Just so we can have a little something down the line.

“I’ll talk you up, explain to him how being down here ain’t like it was in Boston. Whatever, you want me to do.”

“Thanks for that, Frankie. I still dunno if this is the real thing yet, but heck, it’s not like I got a million females banging on my door.”

“And if you did?”

“I probably still wouldn’t do a God dang thing with them. I mean, I did have that feisty, big tittied redheaded wanting to reel me in. And, hell I even turned her down.”

“Cause you thought about Orrin?”

“More than just Orrin. Definitely Kajika, and hell, you ain’t so bad yourself, partner.”

“Ah, well thanks, my man, but Kajika’s gotten a bit more jealous these days, not sure why.” Frankie quickly cleared his throat again and glanced away while finishing the contents in his cup. “Anyway, I’m hoping this talk helped a little. Anytime you need to chat about something, call me. And I think my man will get a kick out of what you said about making you discover yourself. He said you needed a good man in your bed and I guess my baby was right.”

“Yeah he was, Frankie. I don’t think I’ll be able to tell my folks, man. I know they’ll be disappointed.”

“Well, their loss, my friend. Just remember what I told you, okay?  From day one I’ve always said if you find the right person, gender don’t matter. I’ve never liked being a label Vance. We aren’t born with em so why be worried? But since mother fuckers want to call everyone something, we go with it. We’re all human, Vance, meant to fuck and fall in love. That’s it.”

“I get it, really I do, but I don’t want to be with anyone else on the long term. The more time I spend with Orrin, everything just points back to him, ya know?”

“Sounds like someone’s falling hard then,” Frankie laughed and casually rubbed his shoulder. Though he wasn’t all that keen on the idea, he’d let go of his jealousy to see Vance and Orrin make some sort of headway.

After all, they were his friends and as Kajika stated, they would make a very, cute and volatile pairing.

Roughmm1  Good morning readers. I'[m welcoming back bro muse Michael with another inspiration for I Love It Rough. Clearly he was moved by a lot when writing this story.

Thanks Rawiya. Yes I was inspired to write many scenes in the story but perhaps one of the most significant ones came later in the book when writing about my bitchy girl, Kenina. *laughs* This woman is exactly the type I see BL writing, fearless female, not exactly fun but her one liners are hilarious. She insults many people in this book and that leaves people scratching their heads i’m sure but she’s clearly a villain who cares about others but puts herself atop the list. She’s a mean girl who only changes slightly during the story and by doing this she makes herself a prominent character.

ChristinaHendricks3And unlike the serial killer who has an evil agenda, this villain is just being herself. She hasn’t won over many fans since in the reviews I’ve received they mention how they hate Kenina. However, as  I stated, her foul attitude made her an important character. It’s made her relevant and in most m/m books, the women in the story are barely acknowledged. At least with Kenina, she is clearly defined…as a bitch and I actually love her for it.

So, you may ask, what song defines my Queen B Kenina? Well, its a funny part after a heated exchange between her and Detective Vance Morain. She’s singing in the car on her way back to the station and this is what she sings.

By Kenina being an older woman she knows this song well. Funny huh? I believe she’s reciting that tune because she’s been so unlucky in love and now she makes up her mind that she doesn’t want anyone.

Ah Kenina you are a card but I hate to tell you, you are falling in love in the next book, no matter how much you hate it. *evil laughter* I do love this series and I’m glad BL and Rawiya are assisting me in writing it. We’re working Shar hard aren’t we?

Thanks for listening to me babble. And here is that scene from I Love it Rough

Livin’ in N’awlins ain’t all that easy…

Kajika Fortier loves his job, the attention he gets from onlookers, and Frankie Choteau. However, his new partner’s jealousy, mood swings, and over protectiveness drives Kajika to the brink but at the same time, excites him to no end.

To complicate things further, a murderer is on the loose looking for blood. All three of the killer’s victims are strippers which not only makes Frankie nervous about Kajika’s safety but leaves him questioning his love for being a homicide detective. Coupled with the stresses of cold cases as well as some fellow officers shunning him for coming out, Frankie is having second thoughts about staying in New Orleans. Despite the encouragement from Vance, Kenina, and Orrin as well as new chief Quinn Murray, Frankie is wondering if his life’s passion really is to catch the killers.

Will the new couple survive these new issues that impede their nearly perfect union? Or will the relationship fail, thus leaving Kajika alone and a target for New Orleans latest serial killer? Detective Choteau and Kajika’s commitment to one another is being tested in more ways than one and they only have one another to lean on.

“I don’t wanna fall in love…nooo noo…” Kenina sang to the old nineties tune she blasted in the car on the way back. Anything to get that old country shit out of her brain along with the argument she’d had with Vance.

Fucking sissy!

Yeah, Kenina still thought Vance was hotter than hot but wouldn’t apologize for anything she said about him, especially after he called her a hateful bitch. “I’ll show him a fucking hateful…” Kenina skipped down the stairs to the pen, preparing to put her dukes up with Vance. “I can take his tall faggot ass, bring it on, ya…”

“Kenina! Get in here, now!” Chief Murray’s alto voice rang in her ears, making everyone around her give Kenina a worried look.

“Aw shit, gal, what you than done, nah, huh?” Waylon shook his head, taking a sip from his coffee cup.

“Nothing. I’m not sure what he wants, but I guess I better go and find out.” Kenina strutted in the opposite direction to Quinn’s second office closer to the pen. She’d learned that he used this office to talk with people in homicide as well as labor relations.

Oh shit, labor relations?

Had that guy Dan made good on his promise to report her for her comments? Or Vance? Did he talk to Quinn about what happened today? Suddenly, Kenina didn’t feel so confident and instead, hesitated to open the door to find out what was going on behind it. “Um, ahem.”

“Come on in here, Porter. Need to see you right now!” Quinn’s voice sounded irritated and raspy like he’d already been yelling with someone.

Kenina inhaled deeply and turned the doorknob. “Yes, sir?”

Quinn sat at the table with another officer next to her. Yeah, it was somebody from labor relations which meant Vance most likely reported her ass for calling him a fag. His blue eyed glare met her gaze. He wrinkled his mustache and opened the folder in front of him. “Have a seat, Porter. And I gotta tell you, I’m really surprised about these accusations against you, Miss Lady. I don’t think I can consider making you sergeant with some of the things you’ve said.”

Kenina swallowed hard and eased in the chair, hating herself for making her feelings known. Damn her smart ass mouth. It might just cost her the position and or any other promotion that came along. “Um, sir, I didn’t mean…any… of that. Vance and I…”

“Yes, Vance told me you called him a faggot.  I won’t have going on in my station even in jest. Kenina, we’re supposed to be open minded here and I know things can get heated between officers, but I need my sergeant to be more tolerant and politically correct. However, Vance’s complaints aren’t the main reason I called you in here. Vance told me how you spoke to Miss Darnaby and Dan, the club owner. You can’t go on talking to people in this manner. Do you know how much trouble you can bring on the station? Harassment, threats to possible witnesses and/or suspects. If they find out about this shit, they’ll have all of our fucking hides! ”

Kenina only nodded and looked away from Quinn. “Yes, but, I know both of them played a bigger role in their respective cases, sir. I swear, especially that whore…”

“Hey, regardless of what you personally feel about her I need for you to be more fucking professional. You have got to curb your tongue, Porter. You can’t just cut people down when you have a hunch if someone is involved or not.”

“But Chief, I… I don’t mean a whole helluva lot by it but you should’ve seen the guy Dan or that woman, Miss Darnaby. They looked slimy, guilty…”

“That’s profiling, which, again, I can’t have in my station. Listen, this is a warning, okay? I can’t have you acting like this with witnesses or else I’m gonna have you back on desk duty or worse, suspended. You don’t want that on your permanent record cause unlike Ballmore, it will matter when you want to get promotions or make lateral moves.” Quinn leaned back in his chair and closed the folder. “Now, do we have an understanding, Detective Porter? I have Fred in here from labor so he knows I didn’t do anything outside the rules and he knows it’s a warning. Make one wrong move and I will have your intolerant ass on the desk, pushing files for the pen. Understood?”

Kenina breathed easier, knowing she escaped this episode by the hair of her chinny chin chin. Damn. Sometimes being the mean girl doesn’t fucking pay!

Roughmm1   Good morning readers. I’m happy to have brother muse Michael Mandrake on as part of his blogtour for I Love it Rough. This is part of the triad series, N’awlins Exotica which Michael is spearheading but BL has 2 books coming, then I have book 5, and Michael closes out the series with book 6 before me and BL take over the Masquerade portion of the collection.

Whew, I know its a lot but just follow us and you won’t get too confused. Anyway, getting back to the newest release, he’s here to talk about the songs that inspired him to write ILIR. Take it away Michael!

* * * *

Thanks Rawiya. While doing I Love it Rough, I listened to a multitude of things; some jazz since Frankie is into jazz and R&B and for Kajika, some dance music to fit his flirty persona. One song however stood out for the love scene and since both Kajika and Frankie love Janet Jackson it seemed to fit perfectly.

For the private dance scene in the end, Kajika uses Janet Jackson’s Would You Mind as a backdrop for his routine.  Basically uncovered and only wearing boots, Kaj  completely captivates his man, solidifying their attraction to one another. That’s all I’ll say. You’ll have to read ILIR to find out why Kajika felt he had to do this to make sure Frankie knew who he belonged to. *grins* Have a look at the video and then enjoy the heated snippet between these two. Thanks Rawiya for having me!

Excerpt Three (R Rated)

Kajika, Kajika?” Frankie dropped his duffel at the door and locked it tight. The lights were dim and smells of vanilla incense wafted through his nostrils. “Babe, you here?” Frankie frowned and ran his hands over his smooth dome. “I thought you left me a message to…” He dropped his gaze to the floor and eyed a single envelope. “Hmm, what’s this?” Frankie picked it up and grinned, looking at Kajika’s beautiful penmanship. The light brown envelope smelled of Kajika’s sweet scent and a small set of lips were on the seam of the letter. “Ooohkay, baby, what are you up to now?” Frankie unfolded it and read:

Dear Frankie Choteau,

This ticket admits you to a special performance by Kajika Fortier, Native American Hunk D’ Jour. As soon as you arrive, please take a seat in the chair closest to the stage and feel free to enjoy the refreshments.

Thank you

KF

“Oh yeah? A special performance hmm?” Frankie stroked his newly trimmed goatee and headed for the basement where Kajika’s practice area had been installed for the past couple of months. Despite his disdain for Kajika’s occupation, he fully supported his need to perfect his craft.

“Alrighty, then.” Frankie sniffed the note once again and made a sharp right to the basement door. Anxious to see what his man had come up with, he bounded downstairs and sprinted to the seat closest to the platform as asked. “Nice place.” Frankie chuckled and slid into the chair, sighing when his butt touched the covered seat. Fully relaxed, he grabbed one of the Heinekens out of the ice bucket and popped it open with his personal opener. “Now, I’m comfortable; where is the entertainment?” Frankie loosened his jacket and leaned on his knees, tapping his feet against the hardwood floors. Regardless of their dispute or his fascination with Orrin, Frankie knew he was still head over heels in love with Kajika Fortier. He’d been looking forward to getting back with his baby after the successful capture of Surenthia Jakes’ killer. Their reunion was the perfect way to end a dangerous but great day.

Frankie took another swig of his beer and several red and blue lights went off over his head. A familiar bass line filled the room, causing a smile to come to his face. “Mhmm, more Janet Jackson and, damn, I love this song.” Frankie nodded to the beat and eyed the stage, watching his lover come out dressed in a black g-string and thigh high black boots with silver buckles. His long black tresses were tied back in a ribbon with the rest flowing over his muscled shoulders. “Damn, baby, whew!” Frankie fanned himself, knowing he was in for a treat. Yeah, he hated that Kajika showed his pretty ass off to the masses but when it was just for him, he didn’t have one single complaint. Kajika was by far the most gorgeous individual on earth.

“Baby, do you mind, touching me…” Janet’s sweet voice filled the air along with heavy breathing and a slow, fuck me beat.

Kajika spun on one heel and kicked one leg up in the air, touching the silver metal pole in front of him. He wrapped his arms around it and held on, twirling around until his plump ass hit the stage. He moved to the electric thump, shifting his shoulders from left to right and winking at Frankie as he did so. The look in his eye was wicked, playful, something that drew Frankie and many others in.

“Damn, babe. You know I love it when you dance for me.” Frankie finished his beverage and set the empty on the table. He pulled his jacket off, tossing it to the side while he continued to ogle his man.

Fucking Orrin is hot but not like my man.

Frankie still didn’t feel guilty for his actions, nor was he ready to let go the notion of the two of them getting together. However, he knew he’d never leave Kajika for anyone else, despite the temptation. He’d found his soul mate, the man he’d always been wishing for. No way would he ever let that go. “Baby, I’m all yours, I promise.”

Kajika didn’t say a word, only kept dancing and moving along with the tune. He did a backwards somersault and a split with his legs outstretched, humping the floor. Kajika grinned at Frankie and wagged his tongue while he pulled at the thin strings covering his most treasured prize. Once he got them all undone, he flicked it at Frankie and stood up straight, not even covering his erection.

“Whew!” Frankie watched it fall in front of him. He grabbed another beer and leaned back, running his hand over his crotch. He was rock solid, practically bulging out of his pants, wanting to get into Kajika right away. Fuck the routine. Frankie stroked himself through his polyester slacks, running his fingertips over his swollen balls while the other tilted the bottle towards his mouth. “Holy shit, babe. You are…”

Kajika kicked his leg up again, still keeping in rhythm for the last parts of the song. He wrapped his leg around the pole and swung until he was upside down, spreading his thighs to give Frankie a better view.

“Fuck baby!” Frankie cursed and yanked his pants apart, busting the zipper. He took his swollen dick in hand, dragging his thumb through the pre-cum seeping through the slit. Frankie plopped the bottle on the table, forgetting about wanting another beverage. In front of him was something a lot more satisfying. “Holy shit, Kajika! I swear you got me so hard right now.”

Kajika leaned his head back and stretched his legs out again. “Really, Choteau? You want me?”

Frankie stopped jerking and spat on his hand. When he took hold to his dick again, he sped up his movements. It wouldn’t be too long before he was ready to explode. “Fuck yes, Kajika. Get your pretty little ass over here and ride my cock, baby!”
