JaydenRedo Here’s the newest cover for Jayden. I’m so stoked! Emmy Ellis did a great job on it. It also has a new blurb and a couple of small revisions. Other wise, it stays the same!

Isaac Bridges appears to have it all. Generational wealth, a beautiful wife, and a successful career in advertising. He’s worked his fingers to the bone to earn a top spot at Denton & Bridges, but, more than anything, Isaac desires to take back the company Denton stole from his father years ago.

College student Jayden Demario is looking to make something of himself to move from their tough neighborhood. Underneath the pretty exterior, Jayden is a damaged young man, who abhors Christmas because of bad memories.

Jayden has no time for relationships and Isaac wasn’t looking for commitment, but when they begin working together, their goal of not mixing business with pleasure diverts quickly.

Rhett3 And now a sip from Rhett!

Blurb: Rhett had a huge crush on Darren McKissick back in elementary school and on Valentine’s Day, he gave him a special valentine. Despite their obvious attraction, Darren rejected it, making everyone in the class laugh at Rhett and cause a rift between the two friends.

Now as adults the two of them have found one another again through an internet dating site. Rhett only wants a one-nighter but Darren is looking for something long lasting.

Will this new meeting mean love for two men who haven’t seen one another in over a decade?

“Seriously?” Rhett browsed the responses to his online ad about a one-nighter for Valentine’s Day and saw nothing that remotely interested him. “Geez, perhaps I should just−”

“Give it up, Rhett!” Matt yelled from across the room and threw a piece of paper at him. “I don’t know why you continuously look through those online personals. You won’t find love that way.”

Rhett turned up his lips in disgust and groaned inwardly. He loved his best friend and roomie like a brother but hated he was such a know-it-all. “And how do you know? Just because you went the traditional route and met Mr. Wonderful at the gym, doesn’t mean anything. Besides, I’m not looking for the perfect lover, just the perfect lay,” he laughed. “A date and a good sex partner for Valentine’s Day.”

“I get it, and I still don’t understand why you waste your time doing it online. You might as well advertise it on the street corner wearing nothing but an overcoat. When a good looking man walks by, flash ‘em and show off your best assets.”

“Shaddup,” Rhett tossed a pencil at him. “The internet is helpful when finding just about everything else. Why not this? I mean…” he propped his feet on top of the desk and leaned back in his chair. “Why shouldn’t I give it a shot? I’ve met nice guys online before−”

“And you’re still single.” Matt retorted, turning to face him from his Lazy Boy recliner.

“Because I want to be,” Rhett added with a smile. “I don’t want anyone at work to know until I’m ready to settle down. For now, I’m happy with the random hookups. It’s easier to keep it hidden that way, since I work at the firm.”

“Yeah, yeah, like they care about your orientation. I told you, I don’t know what you’re so worried about. You’re the IT guy, not the head of anything. You can get away with being gay. No one asks you anything other than how to fix their computer and get rid of viruses.”

“But what if the conversation turns into, who’s the person you’re seeing? Then I’m forced to answer questions. At least now I only say, ‘no one special’, which leaves it totally open. It means I’m available.”

“And they assume you’re straight, which you’re not.”

“That’s okay too, because I never get into specifics with them. If I start acting all giddy and stuff, they’ll suspect something. I can’t have that, Matt. I just want a temporary date for the night, someone I can bring home, eat breakfast with, and kick out in the morning.”

“Makes for a lonely night, Rhett. Very lonely. Valentine’s Day should be for lovers, or at least people who are seeking that. You can do the hook ups any time of the month.”

“Yeah, but−well, heck, I need something to do that night, okay? You’ll be out with your man, and I’ll be stuck here alone. I just want company, that’s all.”

“I get it,” Matt sighed and shook his head as if he pitied Rhett’s situation. He got up and clicked his teeth, while he grabbed his empty glass. “If you ask me, I think you need a full-time lover in your life. Deep down you want that relationship and perhaps you’re too scared, or too lazy, to look. Wanting a one-nighter is a cop out.”

“No it’s not. Like I said, I’m just not ready for the emotional hang-ups that come with a relationship. Putting my heart out there to get stepped on isn’t something I want to experience.”

Matt stopped a moment before walking out the room. “Have you ever been in love? I mean, we’ve only known one another since high school. Then, you were such a nerd and cared little to nothing about boys or girls. You only wanted to sit at home, play video games, or work on your computer.”

Rhett sat up straight and looked away a moment while drawing up his lips. He bit the bottom one until it hurt.

Rhett wanted to answer Matt’s question, but he knew it would sound really stupid. The first boy I ever saw, I fell in love with. Darren was his first name. The young boy’s last name escaped him, but he recalled that taut body that looked good even in seventh grade. The boy was an athlete with exceptional skills in almost every sport; he was smart and fine. Caramel colored skin just like his favorite candy bar, Twix, light brown eyes, bushy black eyebrows, and a perfectly chiseled face that resembled a movie star. Mmph. Was it wrong to get horny just thinking about a preteen boy he knew almost eleven years ago?

“I’m waiting, Rhett!” Matt stood there, arms crossed and tapping his feet, patiently awaiting Rhett’s response.

Rhett hesitated. “No.” He just couldn’t endure the ridicule from his best friend. He could hear it now. You fell in love with a boy in elementary school? Rhett knew it sounded silly too, but his heart was crushed that day at the Valentine’s Day party.  Boldly, Rhett gave Darren a Valentine’s Day card and when Darren saw it, he chuckled and made fun of it. Rhett would never forget the look on his face and the way the other kids laughed, teasing him about asking Darren on a date. Just one of the reasons he didn’t want to come out of the closet. Since then, he’d never taken teasing very well. “I haven’t. Like I said, I’m afraid of getting hurt.”

MochacoverAnd an excerpt from Mocha Kisses!

Overall Blurb:

Love sees through all differences and no matter what the situation it can strike the heart of any soul at any given time.

Simple delicacies like donuts and coffee can bring two people together no matter what their differences and when love comes into play, it can make for a very satisfying experience.

In these two stories, Cupid shoots his arrows at four men, drawing them to one another through chance encounters that instantly grow into something more.

Smooth Like Latte

Blurb:

Brendan Walsh likes money and because of this, he is willing to deal with his irrational, homophobic dad who has threatened to disown him if he comes out gay to the world. This puts Brendan on edge and alert at all times, leaving little to no time for him to build a steady relationship with anyone.

Davori “Latte” Jenkins is a happy go lucky barista working in the Walsh building. Born and raised in North Carolina, Latte possesses extremely good looks and charms the pants off anyone in his path using his Southern boy attitude.

When Brendan visits the shop Latte works in, they’re immediately drawn to one another. Latte makes him a caramel latte with something extra and because Brendan isn’t out of the closet, they keep their thoughts and flirtations silent. Once they start dating, Brendan gets the courage to come out publicly and the relationship goes into overdrive. Still, Latte desires something more to define their relationship.

“You have a good one.” Latte placed another coffee on the top and smiled at the next. “Miss Laura, is it? Tall caramel latte, extra sugar, no cream.”

“You got it.” She laughed. “How the hell do you memorize all these orders?”

Latte shrugged. “Just doing my job, ma’am.” He wrote her name on the cup and filled it with hot water. While he grabbed the milk, he looked over at Brendan Walsh, still giving him the side eye.

Baby.

“Where have you been all my life,” he mouthed to himself and clapped his hands. “Mr. Owens, having the same today? Tall hazelnut, no sugar, three creams?”

“I sure am.”

Pleased his memory still worked through distractions, Latte moved to the back and finished the other customer’s drink.

Derrick came up beside him and nudged his side. “Well, Latte, looks like you got an admirer. I still don’t get how you’re into hairy chests and balls with all this good-looking women practically giving you their panties, but what do I know?”

“Exactly. Nothing.” He chuckled and finished grabbing cream from the fridge. “Come on, Derrick, you gotta admit he’s gorgeous. Look at him. Tall, reddish brown hair, beautiful hazel eyes, and I can tell even from under that coat, the man takes good care of himself.”

“Yuck, just go after him already.” Derrick made a face and turned away.

Latte laughed. “I wish I could.” He headed back up to the counter, finishing Mr. Owens’s coffee. “Here you go, Mr. Owens. You have a nice one.” Latte placed it in front of him and shifted his focus back to Brendan who was still talking with Cathy but eyeing Latte, too.

Much to his delight, Latte noticed the line was a lot shorter now, but a few of his regulars still needed their beverages. “Um, Miss Lisa, give me a sec, alright?” Latte wiped his apron and headed over to where Cathy and Brendan were standing. “Everything good with the drink?”

“Oh yeah, he was just…” Cathy blushed.

“It’s excellent, Latte. The best macchiato I’ve had in a long time, thank you.” Brendan’s slim lips curled into a smile.

Latte wished they were alone because he could tell Brendan didn’t like flirting in public. “Um, good. Thanks for the tip, too. Perhaps you should come down and see us more often.”

“I should and I will. Promise me you’ll be here to make it every morning, and I’ll make a regular appearance.” Brendan held up his cup in toast. “Come visit me,” Brendan mouthed and handed him a card.

“I hope so and I’ll see you around then.” Latte backed away and went back to his customers, trying to forget the hot man standing there staring him down.

Regardless, he got the message. Brendan was indeed interested in talking to him, but wasn’t keen on making his personal business public. Latte could certainly understand, being from the South where he had to hide in the shadows almost every day of his life.

Now that he moved up to Chicago, he expected to live life outside of the closet and wanted a partner willing to do the same thing.
