Welcome Phoenix Johnson!

Thank you so much for having me here. Always good fun to be somewhere new!
I’m here to talk about my debut novella, The Wolf in the Neighborhood. It’s a paranormal erotic romance, with a bit of suspense thrown in for good measure, and is the first of my Wolf Smitten Trilogy, published through Naughty Nights Press. I’m thrilled to be part of the team at NNP, and to be working with such great people to get my books polished and ready to go out in to the world.
So what is The Wolf in the Neighborhood about?
What do you do when your past comes back to haunt you?
Could a dark secret revealed by a new lover be something you could overlook just to have him?
What kind of secrets could you learn to live with for true love?
Krissy has a hunky new neighbour with a dark secret; Derek is a vet with an interesting past. They hit it off quickly but when Krissy’s abusive ex, James comes to town, Derek shows a side Krissy never could have guessed. James, however, refuses to give up.
Can Derek’s secret save them, or will James have his revenge?
Here’s a teasing little snippet…
A shuffled footstep and a deep, yet quiet “ahem” shook her out of her reverie and she immediately sat up, looking for her robe. An unusual wind gust earlier had blown it out of reach and as its fluttering caught her eye, she finally saw the gorgeous body that belonged to the voice responsible for interrupting her tanning session. Her eyes travelled up his long legs hidden behind faded denim, paused at the bulge behind the zipper and kept crawling up his torso, enjoying the sight of the defined muscles stretching his black tee shirt provocatively. His large tanned hand held out her robe, the sun making the red satin shine.
“I’m sorry,” the stranger said, his deep voice rumbling across the rooftop. “I didn’t mean to startle you. I’ve just moved in and wanted to check out the view.”
Krissy couldn’t quite determine his accent. It seemed to flow between a Texan drawl and a classy clipped British brogue; a combination she did not expect to hear intermingled. It was very attractive and she found herself wanting to know what kind of life brought these two contrasting accents together. His muscular body only enhanced her growing interest.
As he stepped towards her, waving the robe to catch her attention, she remembered that she was standing in front of a total stranger wearing nothing but a smile, a tan, and a growing blush.
Reviews for The Wolf:
- P Lane 5 Star Review:
Her characters touch you in a way not many authors can achieve. You are cheering for Derek and Krissy and James is a villain that you love to hate. I found myself laughing several times through the book with the humor laced throughout the steamy bits. Move aside, E.L. James. You ain’t got nothing on Phoenix Johnson!
- Robin 4 Star Review:
If you believe in love or lust at first sight then you will find The Wolf in the Neighborhood a delightful story.
- Pamela 4 Star Review:
Just finished Wolf in the Neighborhood! Absolutely amazing. Loved the ending and especially “Mr Wolf”. It’s great, so looking forward to #2.
- Delena 3 Star Review:
I loved her take on the wolf, Derek. It wasn’t your typical “guy gets bit, guy grows fur, guy starts chasing the mailman and lifting his leg along the fence line” werewolf story. How Derek became the wolf was sad, but had a nice spin on it.
I also particularly loved Krissy and Derek’s “love at first sight” and how they handled it. Both were comfortable with themselves, caught up in the thrill of their new relationship, but without all of the typical angst and romanticizing. As a couple and as individuals, they were still very realistic about the whole thing, which I appreciated.
The Wolf in the Neighborhood is available for purchase at Naughty Nights Press, Amazon and Amazon UK, Smashwords, All Romance eBooks, and coming soon to Barnes and Noble and Apple.

Thank you for having me here at The Crypt. I do so love returning to the blog that has inspired one of my current Works In Progress, and I can’t wait to get it out there with Wolf Smitten!
